Show and Shine

The Australian Hay Mini Nationals Show and Shine is arguably the biggest and best annual Mini show and shine in Australia. There are regularly in excess of 100 Minis from all around the country and some of them are pretty much the finest examples around!MG

The Show and Shine is divided into six categories

-Best original Morris
-Best modified Morris
-Best original Leyland
-Best modified Leyland
-Best BMW / Rover Mini
-Best derivative (Mokes and Gems etc)

There is also the very sort-after peoples choice award.

To cap all of this off is the outright winner, and best vehicle at the event who will nab the coveted 'Best in Show' award.

Before the judging gets underway there is a parade of Minis down the main street of Hay. The line often fills both sides of the road from one end of town to the other! A truly spectacular sight!
On arrival at the judging and display area, (Moppett street Hay) owners and drivers can fill out their entry forms, and the judging will get underway.
Judging is carried out by several judges from all clubs participating. Each judge is assigned a category and a partner judge. Each judge will assess the cars in their category, and then those in his or her partners category. Scores will be added together and then divided by 2 to give the final results for both of the categories. This ensures a level playing field for all participants!
The winner of each category will receive a trophy at the Sunday night presentation party, and will also receive 1 point toward the GBS ‘best club’ award.
